Sepah Avenue was one of the most important roads in Tehran, with ministrial offices on the east part (ending to Sepah Square at the far end of the picture), and the old palace of the Kingdom and the Senate on the west side. On the right of the picture was the "Ghour-Khaneh", a Ministry of War's building (earlier a mid-town storage of light artillery). On the left side Tehran's main Post Office was located with its yellowish brick facade.
Today: The Post Office is still there, repaired after a fire. The "Ghour-Khaneh" is all gone, replaced by a main station of Tehran's long-awaited metro system to become operational still in the future. The western side of the street has found even more importance now that both the parliament and the presidential offices are there.
